Who We Are

Mountain View Credit Union is a co-operative owned by its members, so we really are your local financial institution. Your membership allows you to enjoy many benefits unique to the credit union system:

Local Decision-Making

With many years of experience providing financial products and services in Central Alberta, we understand the needs of local consumers and businesses. Our staff are empowered to make decisions, because we believe that they are in the best position to understand their members and the local economy. And, our Administration office is still only a phone call away, right here in Olds.

Share in the Profits

As an owner of the credit union, you can benefit directly from our success through Profit Sharing. In fact, we have paid over $22 million in Profit Sharing to our members since 1988. Learn more about Profit Sharing.

You Have a Voice - and We Listen

Members also have a say in how their financial institution operates: you can vote for the Board of Directors, which consists of nine local people like yourself, and you can also attend the Annual General Meeting to vote on issues important to Mountain View Credit Union's future.

Members First

Mountain View Credit Union has the full range of personal, business and agriculture financial products and services to help you meet your goals, and the professional advice from our friendly staff to go along with it. Plus, we let you choose how you want to do your banking, whether that's in person, online or at an ATM.

100% Deposit Guarantee

Your deposits are safe and secure, up to any amount. This 100% guarantee up to any amount, including accrued interest, by the Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corporation.

The Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corporation guarantees the repayment of all deposits with Alberta credit unions, including accrued interest. Additionally, the Credit Union Act provides that the Government of Alberta will ensure that this obligation of the Corporation is carried out.

The guarantee does not cover non-deposit investments, including common shares, investment shares, mutual funds and self-administered RRSPs that are not deposits (e.g., shares, mutual funds).
